What to Wear

Special Note For Our Lady Guests: I (the bride, Stephanie, whatever), have a deep love and fascination with the British tradition of ladies wearing fancy hats or fascinators to weddings. Like these:

This is by no means a requirement, but I would like to bring the tradition to the wedding, and many ladies are already planning to wear a fancy hat or fascinator for the occasion. So, we encourage you to do so as well, if you want! Please keep in mind that this will be a mostly indoor evening affair, so a large-brimmed hat to block the sun will not be necessary, and excessively tall hats may block the view of other guests. Feel free to choose a fun hat or hairpiece, but keep the visibility of your fellow guests in mind when selecting the size!

For All Guests

This won’t be a black-tie affair, so leave your tuxedos at home  – unless that’s really all you have to wear; we prefer a tux to you going naked (ala Betazoid wedding style)! We’re aiming for semi-formal. You may remember this from middle school dances as being “dress pants or skirts/dresses, no jeans, no baseball caps, and no sneakers (tennis shoes).” We won’t be too strict on the sneakers part – we’re suckers for the “clean sneakers with suits” look that’s become popular in the last few years:

Of course, Tony Stark can pretty much get away with wearing anything, being Iron Man and all.

The ceremony and reception will be held indoors at one location, but please note that much of the parking lot is gravel and there will be outdoor lawn games during the reception. Keep this in mind when selecting your footwear: stilettos are ill-advised.

Aim for “dressy fun” and we know you’ll be just fine. Like these two cool kids:
